Join to SPEA Madeira - Portuguese Society for the Study of Birds (portuguese Birdlife partner) and Birds & Company to learn about Macaronesian Sparrowhawk and explore their habitat doing a walk through the Laurisilva forest and beautiful landscapes of Madeira.

The Macaronesian Sparrowhawk is a diurnal bird of prey of forest habitats that occur in Madeira.

This activity is under the LIFE  Fura-bardos - Conservation of Macaronesian Sparrowhawk and Laurissilva habitat in Madeira Island.

Levada do Folhadal – Encumeada

Date: NEW DATE Sunday, 11/05/2014

Duration: approx. 7hours and 30mins

Description: Walk with birdwatching and identification
of some plants of the Laurissilva forest. Visit one of the areas of intervention of the project LIFE Fura-bardos for control of invasive plants. Lunch at Caramujo lagoon.

Includes: Transport, 8 places marked in
order of registration. The other parties can go in own
car to the place of beginning of the walk. Personal
accident insurance.

Recommendations: Walk mixed with path and
levada with tunnels, so you will need torch,
waterproof clothing and appropriate footwear.
Bring food and water for the entire day.
