Seabirds are threatened by the coastline lights of cities. In the end of breeding season, when the young birds leave the nests and go to the sea they are attracted to the lights and circle them until they are exhausted and/or injured during their fall to the ground.

This campaign takes place between October 1st and November 20th. The rescue squads are organized to search grounded birds mainly in coastline areas (beaches, promenades, roads) or places with glaring lights (football fields, buildings). The best period for rescue is between 20h00 and 23h30, giving priority to periods of new moon, when the young birds tend to be attracted by artificial lighting.
